Recoverd Korean Blog Posts

I switched over to blogger a while ago because I had lots of problems with my previous blog.com page, and then one day I just got the same error message again and again! Thankfully, my mom had emailed my grandma copies of my blogs so I will try to add them here so they aren't lost forever! Adding pictures back in might be a might task let's see how it goes.  Merry Christmas! Posted by Nicole in December 23, 2011 Woooo! It’s finally here. As I printed all of my flight tickets earlier this week I had no idea that I had booked my tickets so long ago! I booked my ticket for Aus on Oct 23rd, and Bali and home about a month later! I thought the day would never come for my trip but here it is! I’ll go to Seoul right after school today at 630, should get in around 1130, unless my principal lets us leave school early. Then tomorrow morning I’ll catch a shuttle bus from Seoul, to the airport in Incheon and hop on my flight and cross my fingers that I can go explore in China with...

It’s Vacation/Holiday countdown time!

It’s Vacation/Holiday countdown time! Posted by Nicole in December 16, 2011 I cannot express how excited I am for my upcoming vacation to Australia and Bali. Today has been the coldest day so far.. I think. A high of 37 and biking to school in 26 degrees with 10-20mph wind.. blehh. Glad I didn’t forget to bring my gloves today! I actually started packing a little bit last weekend since none of the clothes I will wear there are what I’m wearing now, except tank tops that I use to layer. However I should probably get organized and figure out all the specific information about my flights, work out roaming charges for my phone, see if it’s worth it at all to use. I will be able to use it as like an itouch with the internet where there is wi fi available and use it as a back up camera. My digi cam pictures that are taken inside haven’t been coming out the greatest.  Next Friday as soon as we are done with school I will head to the bus terminal, then onto Seoul. Stay ...

Christmas Lessons Begin

Christmas Lessons Begin Posted by Nicole in December 9, 2011 I started yesterday in my afterschool class talking and teaching about traditions we have for Christmas in America. It seems like some things are similar like opening presents, visiting family.. and obviously things like food are different. I did have one of my students say that they eat pizzza on christmas. I had them fill in the blanks about a christmas letter asking things they wanted from Santa, then three things about why they had been good girls. It can be quite a challenge to get them to think of things on their own, but finally they did. They love doing word searches, so next week we have some more riddles, crossword puzzles, and games for Christmas. I want to show them Elf, or The Grinch, but I would have to download the movie myself, then sign up for the Korean Subtitles.. seems difficult. Apparently its not but I may show a Shrek Christmas Special that is streaming online instead. The girls love...

Costco Heaven and more!

Costco Heaven and more! Posted by Nicole in December 2, 2011 Good Afternoon !   This week has just flown by and it’s already Friday again! Last weekend, I had a quiet Friday night. Met up with some friends (Phillipa, Daniel, Therse, & Kerry) downtown for dinner. We ate a delicious Korean Italian restaurant! I was in a pizza mood so got a veggie pizza and it was delish. Then we went bowling afterwards. I was feeling a little tired so decided to catch the bus home and save up my money for the Costco trip! Saturday morning I did a little house work and cleaning. Crazy how messy my little apartment can get when I neglect it and just sleep in it for a week. Then I decided to run a load of laundry so it would be dry when I got home on Sunday. Only ran into a little problem, to meet up with friends in Daegu I was supposed to leave my house by 11… I put the wash in around 930, usually it takes about an hour. So 1045 comes around and its just about to start another ...
