I hope you feel a little more updated and can put pictures to the stories you’ve read now! Description: Description: :)I had a great chilled, money saving weekend! On Friday night, a few friends from pohang came to Heunghae for our little Heunghae party. It was like pulling teeth to get people to come out here but the 4 of us who live here really wanted to have people come and see what it’s like up here and how lucky they are to live in the city.. and feel our pain on the bus a bit. It was raining cats and dogs but that didn’t get our spirits down! We first hung out at Andrews apartment across the street from me. Then we headed to a chicken resturaurant where we hung out, chatted, had some laughs and drank. Then we headed to the Makoli bar (rice wine) where the place was absolutely full then a group of 10 foreigners came and people ran! Literally, we emptied out the entire restaurant except for one table. One of the guys at that table said he would pay for our entire bill! We then had a great time with the restaurant owners. The woman kept pouring us more and more makoli. Then she kept saying how beautiful Liandi and I were. Then she wanted to keep hugging and kissing my cheek, it was pretty funny. Michael has pictures of the night so I will have to get them from him but either way was a great night and was so happy to not need to take a taxi home!

Saturday slept in, made some breakfast, eggs, bacon, toast, went to the gym, watched Friends with Benefits which I found pretty funny, then ordered some pizza for dinner. IT was really really good! Description: Description: :)Sunday I went skating finally ! It was about 5 bucks to taxi there, then 4.50 to skate. Unfortunately it was pretty crowded and more then half the ice rink is coned off for the speed skating lessons. The ice was super choppy. So it was dodging people, everyone staring, and trying to find space to do anything. Oh yeah, then everyone wanting to talk to me.  So not only had I not really skated skated, tried to do anything for 4 months, everyone and their mom in that ice rink was staring. People kept saying i’m the American Kim Yuna. It was really pretty funny, so I realized that even if I did mess up or I felt like my spin looked terrible they were still in oooh and ahh over it. lol  I’ll definitely go again but maybe first thing when they open so the ice is  better and maybe not so crowded on a sunday since people will be at church and stuff. After that went to Bukbu beach to plan out the Taekwondo Class with PIC (pohang international community) We needed to plan a date, a price, and time to start learning taekwondo! That will start next Monday evening one hour once a week, then more practicing at home!

I’ve been spending a lot of time doing research about whether or not I need a visa to leave the airport in Guangzhou on my stopover on my way to Australia. I’ve gotten mixed signals and am a little confused, so will have to figure out someone with good knowledge to ask ! I’m really hoping I don’t. A visa to visit China is about 200 bucks!! But if I do get the visa i’ll make sure to make another trip their, for a long weekend or something like that. Flights are about 2 hours from Busan, which is only 1.5 hours away instead of Seoul which is 5 hours away.

I tried going to the gym today, but my stomach was soo hungry from not bringing enough food for lunch I could barely do anything. Came home, made some soup, chopped up some fruit and am now a happy camper! I may go back later tonight after I digest or just relax and let my lost skating muscles a break for the evening!

hope you enjoy the pictures, i’ll try to bet better about updating them when I write, but life gets in the way sometimes! Description: Description: :)

<3 xoxo

Winter in Melbs

In the blink of an eye, it's already July. Again, it is such a strange feeling because it feels like Christmas should be any day now with the backwards seasons, days are super short, the cold, snow in the higher areas of Victoria. No better way to confuse the girl who hasn't been home for Holidays in ages and been skipping out on winters for a few years now. For a sun worshipping, desert dwelling lover, the Melbourne winter has been less than desirable. It's no Korean winter, however the rain, the cold, the wind, and super early darkness have me missing anything about warmth and summer.  Which is why I am literally counting down the days until I leave for Hawaii.. 16 more days! My family is blessed to have the opportunity to celebrate Cody's graduation from law school from the University of Arizona in May. He has already landed a full time job and will take the bar exam after our trip in Hawaii. Meeting the family in Hawaii will work out perfectly as it's as half...

Travel Tales so far in 2018

Ok onto the fun stuff! The travels of the year!  My mom came to visit for 5 weeks from the end of March until May. It was really nice to have her here to keep us company, do some gardening work, and we went on a little trip as well during her time here. In Portugal we went to Coimbra together for the day, Soito to enjoy the Senora da Granja festival, and Obidos. My mom also visited Lisbon on her own. In between her visits in Portugal we headed to Toulouse where we visited our great friends who are French but raised their girls, similar in age to myself in the Phoenix! One of their daughters lives in NY and Melissa was currently staying with her parents but kind of floating around working in sustainable fashion design. She was working on a project while we were there creating a dress from plastic bottles! I loved seeing some of her photos of her work!  Anyways, They moved back to France after Melissa graduated High School in AZ early. It was so much fun to catch ...

En Panama es Tranquila

The rest of my time in Costa Rica was awesome and a little dried than before, thank goodness! And to update you... I didn't have any problems with my ATM cards, turns out it was all of the three machines in Monteverde which apparently don't accept mastercard even though the banks say they do! Crisis averted :) I spent my birthday on a bus and a boat gtting to Montezuma. Montezuma was soo cute, and small. The atomsphere was fabulous.  I headed to the beach as soon as I arrived and met some French Canadians who were throwing a frisbee. We went out to dinner and they treated me to my bday dinner. After, I hung out with an Aussie I met in my hostel and the bar made sure to play their cheesy "feliz cumpleanos" song and some free shots of Casique.. the Costa Rican sugar cane rum.. Which is quite rough, kind of like rubbing alcohol. The days after that I enjoyed a waterfall hike with Adam, the Aussie, days on the beach, and a snorkeling tour. After Montezuma, I headed...
