Summer of 21

Yikes 4 months have gone past since I have written anything! But in the meantime, I have done a little blogging here as I transfer my Korean blogs over to this blog page.  My mom had emailed my grandmother my Korean blog posts which I am forever grateful to not only see what she said back to my mom but also have a copy of those blogs. I had a page with blog.com and when you try to visit the site now it just says page not found. :O The bummer is a lot of photos can't transfer over, but at least I have the text. I have back dated them so you can find them in the 2011-2013 tabs! I am also amazed but so grateful that I had the time to write so many precious memories and funny stories there in the blog. I don't have such a vivid memory so it is great to bring back more details of my time there! With Luke a lot more active the last few months,  we have done park trips, playing outside in the grass, with his water table, or just pouring water buckets around the yard.  He s...

Luke turns one and goes to America!

ONE!!!    How is it possible my sweet baby turned one? Mommy life has been a crazy whirlwind of time! It really feels like yesterday that we were heading to the appointment in Trofa, to have a check up but were surprised to find out I was in labor and trying to find a hospital that would take Joel and I during the start of covid!  Covid cases have been getting better here in Portugal but there were still lots of restrictions during Luke's birthday so we celebrated in true covid style, with a virtual party. We had birthday songs in English and Portuguese and a home made sugar free cake for Luke to go crazy with!  Luke was so cheerful during his party and clapped his hands and squealed with joy for his guests to see. He didn't really get into his cake smashing, but it was funny to see the blue frosting all over! He received a water table, a ball pit, a race car book with lots of sound buttons, shoes, socks, a sun hat, and lots of love from mom and dad! :) The tim...

Countdown to the BIG O-N-E

Feb 24-  How is it possible?! Luke is 4.5 weeks away from turning one! :O   I feel like things are changing every single day so it was important to write some funny stories and remember all of the funny things he is up to these days!  He has been able to pull himself up to standing position for some time, but now is really getting more and more confident in his walking each day. One week he didn't understand at all the point of the toy walker was. When we placed his hands on it and encouraged him to start walking, he just leaned forward to play with the front of it.. Now when he is in the right mood, he takes off!! Before he understood the concept of walking in with the walker, he was holding on to the back of his little race car and walking with the help of that. He can stand up and balance for 10-15 seconds.   Though he still isn't crawling, he has figured out how to scoot himself around. Like crawling where he has one knee on the floor, and will push off...
